One of the quintessential Viennese operettas, The Merry Widow also is one of the most popular comedic works in the operatic repertoire. Light, frothy, tuneful and fun, it tells the story of a wealthy widow, who's obliged to marry for the good of her country, and the former lover she encounters while fighting off would-be suitors. It’s sure to make for a happy evening at the theater.

The cast includes Ian Greenlaw (last on the UAO stage in La Bohéme), Sylvia Stoner (previous UAO productions include Faust and Eugene Onegin), UAO favorite Ann Hoyt, and Tommy Wazelle (making his UAO debut and Ann Hoyt's soon-to-be husband!). Union Avenue Christian Church members and friends will find familiar faces in Elise LaBarge, Philip Touchette and Douglas Allebach (all members of the Chancel Choir) in the ensemble. Phil and Elise show their immense versatility as performers in their featured roles in ensemble dance numbers ... they’ll put a smile on your face!
