New Art Exhibit: Celebrating the Creative Spirit

Opening November 5, our newest exhibit in the Gretchen Brigham Gallery is entitled Celebrating the Creative Spirit: The "Art" of Union Avenue Christian Church.

All the works featured in this collection are the product of the creativity of members and friends of the church. Each expresses a unique understanding of how we are all invited to participate in God's creative life-giving spirit by sharing beauty, joy, challenge, relationship, humor, and love with the world.

You might just be surprised by the range of works that make up this collection, including paintings, textiles, photography, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, poetry, books, magazine articles, drawings, and even a photo of a patient contributed by a doctor in the church. We invite you to experience this exhibit yourself and to consider in what ways you create "art" in your daily life by participating in God's creation and creativity.  The exhibit will be on display in the church's Gretchen Brigham Gallery through December 12, 2010.
