Our Reel Faith event for March, just in the time for Lent and Holy Week, is the film "Chocolat." Set in 1950s France, a free-thinking single mother (Juliette Binoche) and her young daughter move into a peaceful seaside village and open an uncommon chocolate shop during the height of Lent — directly across the street from the church. The shop’s sensuous desserts scandalize the town until the villagers (including Johnny Depp) learn to savor the sweetness of life. (PG-13). Participants are invited, if they so choose, to bring some chocolate to share and, as always, free popcorn will be provided. There will be a short discussion following the film. Rated pg-13.
